Trump Account contribution and growth calculator

Example math, not a forecast. Not financial, tax or investment advice. The growth rate is whatever you type in; we don't predict returns, and investments can lose value. Contribution limits come from our contribution limits page (IRS sources): $5,000 a year combined, of which employer money is up to $2,500. Limits may be adjusted for inflation after 2027; this calculator keeps them at $5,000. Fees and taxes are not included. It runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How much can be contributed to a Trump Account each year?

$5,000 a year combined from family, friends, the child and employers, with employer money up to $2,500 per employee within that $5,000. The $1,000 federal pilot contribution, qualified general contributions and rollovers aren't limited. Limits are subject to cost-of-living adjustments after 2027. See contribution limits.

When does the growth period end?

December 31 of the year before the child turns 18. During it, money generally can't be withdrawn. See what happens at 18.

Is the growth rate a prediction?

No. You choose the rate, and the result is example math only. Trump Accounts can only hold eligible index funds of mainly U.S. companies, and investments can lose value.
