Trump Account investment options: what the money can be invested in
The rule
During the growth period, a Trump Account can only be invested in eligible investments: generally a mutual fund or ETF that tracks an index of primarily U.S. companies and meets other requirements (IRS: Instructions for Form 4547).
Who chooses
The responsible party (the adult listed in Part I of Form 4547) can select among eligible investments while the child is a minor (IRS: Instructions for Form 4547). Robinhood Securities LLC is the brokerage provider and initial trustee (IRS: Trump Accounts FAQ).
Unconfirmed: The specific funds offered in the app, their fees, and any default fund were not listed on an IRS page we could check. Press reports mention a fee cap and an S&P 500-style default; confirm in the app before relying on that.
